This is my latest custom figure based on the DC Comics character, the Unknown Soldier. The DC/Vertigo trade paperback is included in the photo for reference.
The base of this custom is the 21st Century winter sniper with the gauze bandages from the Vietnam Nurse applied to the head (the white mask allows for gaps in the gauze wrapping of this prototype)
The uniform is from the 21st Century 3rd Infantry Division basic figure, with the trenchcoat from the G.I. Joe Nisei soldier added (the story - written by Preacher scribe Garth Ennis - is set in the present day with flashbacks from WW2 to Vietnam, but the Unknown Soldier was originally a WW2 hero). The belt (unseen in this picture) is from the 101st Normandy set from 21st.
One of the basic abilities of the Unknown Soldier was that be was a master of disguise. Naturally, to show this, I used the "human" mask from Doctor Evil. I'm planning on doing a second version of the Unknown Soldier using white tape instead of gauze so that he could actually wear the mask.
The weapons seen in the pictures come from three sources. the pistol is the firearm from the Korean pilot accessory set. The rifle on his back is the one that came with the 3rd Infantry figure. And the Thompson is from the PT boat captain.
